Zippo Hand Warmers

We have all been there at one point in our lives, we walk out of our homes on a bitter winter day trying to keep ourselves warm with multiple layers of clothing, hats, scarfs, you name it we have got them on. These products generally help keep you warmer but don't actually generate heat to make you more comfortable.

If you are a keen camper or an outdoors sort of person there is no doubt you will have come across the tea bag shaped body warmers that heat up to a very mild heat and lose it in a very short space of time, not really much use to anyone and a total waste of money. Zippo Manufacturing Company in the United States have come up with a product that runs on lighter fluid, is reusable, fits in pockets, sleeves, socks etc and produces a heat source that is up to a staggering 10 times hotter than the tea bag disposable ones, not bad I hear you say!

Well that was our initial reaction also, being the dubious sort I decided to place an order for a Zippo Hand Warmer to see what all the fuss was really about and if this highly regarded product was really worth the rant and raving which the general public where giving it.

On receiving the long awaited product I could clearly see what really captured peoples attention, the box itself was very eye catching and on opening it I was met with a highly polished chrome zippo hand warmer unit, a refill funnel and a groovy thermal bag to place it in when the burner had been lit.

The instructions are very easy to follow and consist of showing you how to fill the product up with lighter fluid, how to ignite the burner, and when to place the hand warmer in the thermal bag - pretty straight forward stuff, even I managed to follow it!, so pulling out my Zippo lighter. I lit the burner as instructed and waited for the indicator bar to turn red, I then placed the unit in the thermal bag provided and hey presto! I had myself a portable heating device, which i must say was comfortably warm and produced ample heat to warm up my now freezing body.

The hand warmer unit can last up to 12 hours with one fill of lighter fluid and mine did just that, in fact I record getting nearly an hour longer (13 hours). I found it to be extremely easy to put around my person, it easily fits into my pockets, socks and round my neck without hindering me at all, its virtually odourless and safe as houses as it produces no flame - the warmer unit works on self combustion and doesn't produce flame. So if you are looking round your local camping store and picking up the run of the mill tea bag warmers, think again and save yourself some pennies! the Zippo hand warmer is extremely cost effective, reusable, and provides alot more heat for a lot longer, so try one out - like me I'm sure you will not be disappointed.
